Montana State Billings removed the interim tag from Wojtek Krakowiak, making him the school’s head women’s soccer coach. Krakowiak spent one year leading the program in the interim role, with the Yellowjackets finishing 11-3-4. Previously, Krakowiak was the head coach at Rutgers-Newark.
Football – San Jose State and head football coach Mike MacIntyre agreed to a contract extension through the 2017 season. MacIntyre recently completed his second season leading the Spartans.
Football assistants – Missouri Southern State rounded out its football coaching staff with the additions of Randall State, Chris Couch and Byron Anderson. They will oversee the wide receivers, running backs and defensive backs, respectively … Notre Dame hired Harry Hiestand as its offensive line coach and run game coordinator. Hiestand has made numerous coaching stops at the professional and collegiate levels, most recently at Tennessee from 2010-11 … Wisconsin tabbed Andy Buh as its linebackers coach. Buh spent the last two seasons as Nevada’s defensive coordinator and linebackers coach. Additionally, Ben Strickland was promoted from graduate assistant to a full-time assistant coach who will work with the secondary and special teams.
Men’s and women’s soccer – North Dakota State named Mark Cook head women’s soccer coach. Cook was the Director of Coaching at the Minnesota Thunder Academy for the past 11 years and has coached on the high school and club level.
Three North Coast Athletic Conference men’s basketball players eclipsed the 1,000-point plateau in league action on Wednesday. Denison senior Larry Farmer reached the milestone in the Big Red’s 70-56 victory over Oberlin, and is now the 19th player in school history to reach the mark. Wittenberg senior Clayton Black and DePauw senior Sean Haseley also reached the milestone on the same court last evening. Black led Wittenberg to the 66-62 victory over DePauw with 19 points to become the 32nd player in Wittenberg history to surpass 1,000 points, while Haseley led DePauw with 14 points, becoming the 24th player in DePauw history to reach 1,000 points.
